Geeks hold nerd auction

Hope to meet girls
Wed Sep 26 2007, 15:08

GEEKS AT Washington State University are holding a "nerd auction" where they sell their skills in return for a make over and a date.

The move, run by the Linux Users Group, allows sorority girls to buy a nerd to sort out their computer woes.

In return the girls will help them spice themselves up a bit.

It started out as an effort to recruit more women into computer science programs and the nerds asked a public relations class to run a project to help them out.

The trainee spinners suggested the geeks work with specific groups such as sororities which have a good social network.

Of course it is not clear what the geeks will do if the sorority girls run Windows. They will probably run from the room screaming.

Good Luck!

These Wazzou geeks won't have much competition on the Palouse. Cactus Computer guru Tony Ray is an Apple fanbois.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
