Silicon chip ready to gasp its last

MICROPROCESSORS based on silicon technology are set to breathe their last gasp, but there's something ready to take their place.

That's according to Roger Howorth, writing for IT Week.

But even though their days are numbered, spintronics is set to take the place of humble CMOS tech.
