CONSOLE MAKERS are vying with each other to spoil the show for each other as interest focuses on the big boys Microsoft and Sony.

The smaller boy, Nintendo, today showed off a smaller version of its Game Boy in an attempt to switch the limelight from Sony and Microsoft.

Nintendo's Game Boy Micro is about the size of a modern mobile phone and will play games its Advance SP does.

It's expecting to release this little beast later this year to act as a console satellite before it releases its Revolution machine, which will compete against Microsoft's Xbox 360 and Sony's Playstation III.

Nintendo showed off the baby at the E3 show held in Los Angeles. We'll have more from this show during the rest of the week as trusty INQ reporters head for it from all directions. µ
