Medion, the German hardware giant, has a little-known online shop in UK at medionshop.co.uk. Its refurbished section includes three products worth mentionning. First, there's a £68.08+VAT 15-inch MD7475 LCD monitor for sale. It has two speakers, a D-Sub connector and a XGA resolution and a high response time of 30ms. Not ideal to play games but surely enough for office apps.

Next is that refurbished Medion AMD Athlon XP2500+ laptop which comes with 256MB memory, four USB ports, a VIA chipset, a DVD combo, 40GB HDD, 15-inch screen and the rest of it. It costs a fairly cheap £314.89+VAT. Last on the list is a refurbished Pentium 4 2.66GHz laptop for £382.97+VAT. Same specs as the XP2500+ laptop but with Firewire, SPDIF, a Geforce FX5200 graphics chip and more importantly an unshared 512MB memory.

Use the promotion code DCBYAW to get a 10% discount at checkout on this Matsui DVR100 DVD recorder, the lowest priced in UK at £89.99 after rebate or £76.81+VAT. It can record five hours, uses DVD+R and RW, has two scart socket and digital audio output. You also get a nice remote and a TV tuner. Dixons throws in 60 days of DVD rental for free. Product code 007681.

Looking for a cheap phone for your granny or your four year old brother, then try those two offers from Dixons and Amazon. For the first one, use the promotion code MOBILE10 to get 10% discount at check out. They sell a new PAYG Siemens A52 on T-Mobile. No colour screen or other gimmicks but a very sturdy and usable piece of technology. Product code 676364 and price £17.99 or £15.31+VAT.

Amazon has another PAYG from the same provider but this time coupled with the a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B000816MDK/ref=amb_center-3_217026_2/202-9522568-3531850" target="_blank">Motorola C115 which shares the same features as the A52. It costs £19.99 with free delivery in the UK and includes £10 free credit as well as 1000 free texts, making the phone itself almost free. No wonder it is the second best selling phone product on Amazon. µ

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
