Sapphire Liquid metal story unwrapped

Internal mess at Nano coolers
Wed Sep 21 2005, 08:22
IT TURNS out that the lack of Sapphire's highly anticipated liquid cooling product is not the company's fault at all. We saw a letter that Nano Cooler employees sent out to the world and it clearly implies that there are some internal things that are going on at this liquid metal cooling marchitecture provider.

It transpires that the people at Nano Coolers suddenly changed their mind about their priorities. They are shifting LM resources to Thin Film Thermoelectrics, while the development of liquid metal based product is a lower priority now.

Liquid metal prototypes are out in the wild, and the INQ saw this marchitecture working and prototypes were good to go in production as they reached performance goals. But Nano Coolers are "not aggressively seeking new business with this technology at the moment" and have removed references to liquid cooling from its web site.

Nano Cooler's relationship with Sapphire carries on, but the company doesn't want to make any comments about it. It seems everything is on ice for the time being. This clarifies all the confusion about this marchitecture and I don't think that Sapphire can be that happy about this. µ
