The Telly Wars begin

Phillips announced that it was starting started mass production at its own "seventh-generation" line for large-sized television panels on Sunday. Samsung seems to have replied by immediately opening up its newest mass production line for liquid crystal display TV panels, three months earlier than it planned.

Analysts are a bit worried that a war between the top two suppliers of LCD TVs could push the price down as there is suddenly an oversupply.
