HP notebooks "don't overheat"

Sony, how I love you, how I love you
Tue Oct 03 2006, 08:01
WHILE HP uses Sony battery cells, it claimed today that its notebooks won't overheat.

The firm said that it and Sony have studied the matter and come to the conclusion there's no safety problems with machines that use 2.4Ah or 2.6Ah cells.

The caveat being "no battery is immune to failure or overheating".

HP has decided it doesn't need to join Sony's global battery replacement programme.

Hewlett Packard is overheating at board level, but that doesn't affect its notebooks. ยต
