Dell takes Nforce, so AMD?

Puzzle racking our brain
Fri Aug 31 2001, 13:04
A THROWAWAY LINE at Tom's Hardware German page that Dell and Fujitsu will release Nforce-based machines in September has us scratching our heads here at the INQUIRER.

Unless Nvidia and Intel have been secretly working away at an Intel-based Nforce chipset while no-one has noticed, does that mean Dell is, finally, adopting the AMD processor in its machines.

We hesitate to raise this subject really, knowing as we do that analyst Eric Ross at T.Weisel Ink will get all excited about it again.

But sure enough, there on the German page, in black and yellow, and which you can find here, is the the Dell and Fujitsu-Siemens word linked to Nforce.

We do know that La Intella and Nvidia have played together before, and we were told in June that they were playing together again, but an Intel-Nforce platform couldn't be developed that secretly, could it? ยต
