Macinteltoshes contain Trusted Computing DRM

To dream the impossible DRM
Sunday, 9 April 2006, 09:18
REAL TECH NEWS points out that Apple Macinteltoshes use an Infineon TPM chip to impose "Trusted Computing" on users.

Readers long in the tooth will remember that Trusted Computing DRM is a wizard vendor idea subscribed to not only by Intel, but by AMD and heaps of other firms too.

RTN suggests that this is not small news but as roadmap readers know, there's more of that TPM stuff coming embedded into Intel desktop mobos too. And probably in AMD-based motherboards as well.

The vendors like to keep quiet about the TPMs and "Trusted Computing" these days just in case people get hot under the collar.

And hey, if you can't trust the vendors to look after your affairs, who can you trust? [Don't answer, Ed.] µ
