WE DIDN'T EXPECT Transmeta to be the first to market with the long-awaited Nforce 3 250 chipset, but the two firms are unusually close.

Transmeta announced that it's released an Efficeon TM8600 system development kit that will use the Nforce 3 5900 Pro 250, supporting Serial ATA, AGP 8X and Gigabit Ethernet.

TMTA also said it's released the TM5900 system development kit, which uses a mini ITX board, and includes a standard memory slot for DDR. It's going to show both kits off at the CES show later this week.
