AMD releases anti-Intel sky writing video

The planes that practically no-one saw
Sun Mar 27 2005, 13:33
A CHAP at the Ace's Hardware forum has noticed that AMD has now released a video of its anti-Intel exercise against the chip giant at the Developer Forum last month.

You remember, some planes wrote a message about AMD's (Cen)Turion 64 against the bright blue background which was the San Francisco sky that day.

This was an interesting AMD marketing idea, but of course only those who had to go out onto the balcony of Moscone West would have noticed it because the other chip firm, for some reason, decided to stage the stunt during some keynotes.

Nevertheless, the INQ managed to capture a pic of the event, while now, several weeks too late, you can view it for yourselves by clicking here. Complete with plane sound effects, cries of wooh and waah, not quite.

The Ace's forum filing is here.

Hacks who expected a limo ride to AMD's alternative event couldn't find the limo - that's because Intel told the car driver to scarper. Intel also told a couple of dozen students dressed as doctors and nurses attempting to draw attention to an exhibition booth within the IDF event to scarper as well.

So situation normal there, then. ยต
