Manning a help desk does your brain in

BT reveals all

UK PHONE AND INTERNET provider British Telecom has revealed publically what we've all known to be true for years - working at an IT help desk is the worst job in the world.

BT's Home IT advisors are supposedly equipped with all the knowlege to deal with the trickiest of computer problems, but today BT has let loose some of the most bizarre queries the team has received in a press release that reads more like a FW:FW:FW:FW:LOL e-mail than, well, a press release.

Some highlights from the unfortunate help desk's archives include:

Customer: My mouse mat isn't wired up.
Henchman: "I'm not sure I understand, your mouse mat shouldn't have any wires.
Customer: Well, how does it know where my mouse is? Is it wireless?

Thank you, British public, for stomping all over what little faith I had left in humanity.

Here's some more:

Advisor: Can you click on 'My Computer'?
Customer: I don't have your computer, just mine.

Customer: I met a man on the internet, can you give me his phone number?

Oh. Dear. µ
