AMD readies bout of price cuts - again

CHIP FIRM AMD will make further price cuts on desktop microprocessors on the 12th of February a week before it's due to formally announce the Athlon 64 X2 6000+.

Its Sempr0n 3400+ will fall from $71 to $67, its A64 3200+ from $81 to $78, its A64 3800+ from $101 to $93 and its A64 4000+ from $112 to $102.

The X2 6000+ will initially be priced at $465, the X2 5400+ at 267, and the X2 5600+ at $326. All of the other Athlon X64 X2 processors including the EE versions will fall in price.
