I have a real alarm clock, and I've never had a problem with it.

Anyone who's stupid enough to trust something like an iPhone to work as an alarm clock is just asking for trouble and deserves what they get, in my opinion.

Beware shiny things.... non technical people who buy the latest flavour of the month iPhone to keep up with the Jones' ... and then complain when the technology lets them down. Remember Apple isnt the be all and end all - poor software is poor software.Sorry little sympathy here.

But I thought Apple products just worked?

Still, give them a little slack - it IS a clock function, after all - a bit complicated to get right the first, second or even third time round.

Proof, I guess, that Apple doesn't do testing. Why test, when the Reality Distortion Field says "It Just Works"?

My HTC's alarm worked perfectly, at both cases of daylight saving switches. Oh wait, it must be because it is an ANDROID phone :P

I have an alarm clock and a phone alarm. This is about being responsible. In hotels I set the alarm and get a wake up call.

People are so lame these days that when a lame but highly conceivable bug crops up in technology they cant function. Its sad.

Never had any alarm issues set via alarm feature or calendar as either one off or repeatative event with any Windows based mobile or Android based mobile phones I've owned, who'd have thought the almighty apple wouldn't be able to get something as simple as an alarm working correctly lol

The phone could have hundreds of other problems, but its not going to stop Apple's flock of sheep buying the iPhone 5 - and those that those sheep suck into buying it.

Thanks for making me late to work apple. The alarm didn't sound and it is one that I set everyday in the clock section (the one that is supposed to not be affected by the bug). THANKS FOR NOTHING APPLE. HOW CAN YOU NOT FIX THE CLOCK ON A PHONE?!?! Never going to rely on it again, going to get a real alarm clock today.

However...... found a solution for it : Get a true alarm clock with those real bells. iPhone alarm are too tinny to properly awoke person like me :D

I had the same problem. It seems in my case that alarms that are set to repeat (weekedays) are the ones that go off an hour early. Alarms that are set as a one off go off at the correct time.

The Sky+ box sufferered similar issues twice a year with "Manual" recordings.
This was finally fixed last year!

Seems s/w engineers just keep on forgetting some of the basics.

Screw me once Apple, damn you. Screw me twice (thrice etc.) Apple, damn me for trusting you again.

Apple has repeatedly had issues with this function. It's well time Apple bites the bullet and re-develops this Alarm code from the ground up. Patches aren't going to suffice any longer.

Daylight savings leaves me confused.
