What competition?

I fail to see what competition has to do with anything. I have a PC and an iMac and an iPad and a Microsoft Tablet PC. I don't see any incompatibility in owning all these things.

Assuming No Competition

Babyfacemagee estimates and the article doesn't take into account that the iPad will see competing products and that consumer will continue the trend of buying the iPad in the face of that competition.

Weve seen that Droid is preferred over an iPhone and if hardware and price of Android based tablets arrives we could see similar trends as the devices I am aware of arent limited like an iPad that lacks a memory slot and front facing camera.

We will also see Microsoft based tablets reborn as well. Hate to burst peoples Apple distortion bubble but as much as people hate Microsoft. Microsoft Mobile 7 is a much better and faster system than the iPhone and even if they dont take a significant chunk its going to cut into those Apple sales because the hardware wont be as closed off to expansion. Once again the Apple hardware limitations will be its demise in the tablet form factor when the competition arrives in time for X-mas.

I still think there is some Apple market saturation to occur but 20 million might be a better estimate. 2011 will be a tough sell for the iPad.

These numbers are actually accurate if not conservative

Apparently you have done no research on iPad sales. If you did you would know that since the iPad went on sale they have been selling at over a million units every 20 days with long reservation times of up to two weeks for customers due to supply constraints. Apple has announced that they have boosted production to 2 million/month and still there is a wait. They have now asked manufacturers to boost production up to 3 million/month in time for the holiday shopping season.

As of today there have been approximately 7 milliion iPads sold...in less than 5 months. By the end of the year that number will be in the 12-14 million range. At 3 million iPads manufactured/month and with a number of countries still left where Apple hasn't even started selling the iPad...it is a no brainer that Apple will sell close to , if not more than 30 million iPads in 2011.

Try doing some research next time instead making your snarky comments. You just showed yourself to be a fool.
