OK so I have actually owned a Wave for over a month. It is an excellent phone, above all else. It's got the best CPU out there, one of the best screen out there and Bada is for a 1.0 product a very nice OS to use.
I had a Galaxy Spica for 4 month before this and was worse in every respect, expect app support. However Bada apps have started really rolling in the last month. Ok there arent 10,000s yet but most of the usual stuff is covered, and gaming in particlular is great on a device which such a high powered gpu side.
Anyway off point, i have used both modern Android device, Bada device and spent several hours on a Nokia 5800 the other day.
If i were a non techy the result would easily be 1 Bada, 2 Android 3, Sybian.
As someone who actually understand a bit about the platform side of it i still rate them the same. The issue is the Nokia is a horrible phone, with a nasty Os and a crap screen. The lower end Androids are ok but have so so screens, cpus, cameras etc.
The original Wave GT8500 is at least equal in spec to a Galaxy S but much cheaper. A far nicer user experience than any Sybian device i have seen
I hate the fragmentation of the mobile OS scene. Would have been much better if Samsung brought out this phone on froyo or gingerbread or even Moblin/Meego open source software. Samsung Galaxy S is doing very well. But instead capitalising on that leadership and hardware strengths, Samsung is doing just the opposite. I would rather buy Symbian than Bada
