Its a Quarterly Thing

Maybe they are waiting until September 30th to re-evaluate the free case program simply because they are taking a loss on it. If they run it until the end of september they are reporting a loss during that quarter due to giving away free cases, but then starting October 1 they will be able to report a profit on bumpers and cases again. To me that seems much more feasible than coming up with a new iPhone so soon after releasing the 4.

iDiots :)

A buddy of mine just bought the iPhone 4 2 weeks ago.. fine.. whatever.. the antenna issue doesn't seem to be a problem here and the chance of getting afflicted with the other problems is quite low - I understand that...

HOWEVER...! He bought his previous phone outright (not on a contract).... and despite the fact that this new version seems to contain nothing but bug fixes he is planning on buying it too and selling his current iPhoney 4. (also plans on buying the new one without a contract). I really really really realllllly do not understand the need to separate from your money soooo badly!

They never learn!

After how many new Apple product launches that have pushed out seriously flawed products and folks still rush in to buy them on day one?

The golden rule is ALWAYS wait 4-6 months if you, for some bizarre reason, have to buy an Apple product. Then you'll at least get the proper finished one.

Masochistic muppets!

Diehard Fans Shouldn't Have Any Problems..

I've read many posts by people who claimed to have not had any problems at all from their IpHoNe 4 regarding dropped calls.. so should Apple release a revised version, they shouldn't be complaining about wanting the newer model.. but I suppose we'll see.

Proximity Issues?

Does the new one fix the proximity issues also?

Microsoft dropped the ball who knew the Windows 3.1 Desktop would be so successful on a Phone. Way to go Apple.

Annoying Journalists

The journalists here are annoying. I no longer link to their articles but link to the articles they steal.

Perhaps he'll offer existing iPhone4 users a discount if they exchange their current model for new one? Doubtful considering the character we're dealing with, but they can hope.

Pride long gone

When I was younger, people would fell shame at putting out poor quality products(ESPECIALLY AT HIGH PRICES). And they would not stay in business very long. Now IT"S ONLY ABOUT THE MONEY. Does Steve Jobs and others like him have any PRIDE?

?

Should I buy the iPhone 4 now or wait for the new one. I don't care about call reception because I always will have the case on and I live in Australia. Will it look any different?

And the screen issue?

If they fix the "drop from 2 feet and the screen shatters" problem and I might be interested, for now ill stick with Android.
