As for the screwed phones, the majority upgraded their phone without enough charge on the phone. When the charge is gone and you are still at least 50% installing, there goes your phone.
One thing this article doesn't mention Is that the upgrade screwed up half of the phones that downloaded the software "upgrade".
When I went to Verizon to say that my phone had been messing up since the download, thier comment was "At least your phone is still working. Half of the phones were killed completely! "
And tell us please why do we care about US versions of phones delayed software update? At all I might add? They themselves don't care much, and those that do found the needed info a long time ago.

I haven't seen any mention of the tendency for FroYo, aka 2.2, to drain the battery 2 or 3 times as fast. What's up with that?
