Google Voice actions is a “cool” new feature for Android (Froyo 2.2). With this new feature you are able to tell your phone what to do, with just your voice.
Pretty cool stuff — everything just works the way you would expect. Kind of. The feature is awesome, but after all is said and done, I think there may still be a few issues that need to be worked out before people can effectively make use of this.

No, Apple didn't see this one coming. They still don't see it coming. And by the time Froyo is fully distributed and my Palm Pre Plus gets an update that includes Flash, Apple still won't see it coming because while I'm watching Flash based video on an unlimited data plan still, Apple Fanboys will have to cope with the fact that they have no app for that.
Is Google Voice Actions before the time???
I think so...

A while back, Inq posted a question about the next killer app for mobiles. I said 'voice recognition'.
Some Captain Obvious pointed out that phones already have voice recognition. But he missed the point...
People need to be able to 'talk' to their phones...
"Phone, set my alarm for 7am tomorrow."
"Phone, did I get any e-mails from Joe Johnson?"
"Phone, tell my workgroup that I'll be late for the 7am meeting, due to a massive hangover."
We need really intelligent voice recognition! It's the beginning of Star Trek, my friends:)

"Android 2.2 Froyo was released only yesterday"
So sad. Maybe the regular tech "journalist" is on vacation so they got this guy from the caffeteria to write for the week?
Android 2.2 Froyo was released only yesterday ? Are you sure ?
