As someone who went from the unsatisfying user experience of a Blackberry Curve 8310 to a Palm Pre Plus, there is nothing in this Torch that would cause me to want to switch back to Blackberry. My user experience with the Pre Plus eclipses even this BB. The only two phones that could get me away from the Pre Plus are neither a BB nor an iPhone- the HTC EVO 4G and the Droid X both kill the iPhone and the BB. Also, the fact that this Torch can only be had on the network with less bars in more places (AT&T) isn't going to win it any love from anyone who doesn't want AT&T.
You state that sliders aren't that popular, yet one of the most popular phones on the market today is in fact one. That being the Motorola Droid.
