"the firm" is HTC, not Google

« said HTC in a statement » woud be easier to read than the current « said the firm in a statement » (Upgrading the whole Android+Sense experience being more complicated than Android alone, the user does need to know immediately, without wasting brain cells or tens of seconds, if Google or HTC is speaking).

Otherwise, thanks a lot to TheInq and David Neal for the clear and informative articles.

Nothing here

Unbranded on Vodafone, and still showing 2.1-update1 as current.

Froyo on Desire

I am downloading Froyo onto my HTC Desire right now, it's an unbranded Desire on O2 network. So it's live on OTA.

Android Rules!

Can't wait to get an EVO once I'm eligible for an upgrade. Android rocks the smartphone market. Goodbye apple!

Unlicking

If the branded handsets are not getting the updates straight away, then knowing how to unlock the things would be nice

number of handsets?

"so far a number of handsets have already adopted it"
That number is exactly 1! Till now only the Nexus One has it. All other phones are in the "coming soon" stage
