must admit having just installed this onto my 3gs it HAS helped with the signal from Vodafone in the UK.
Well needed as I was thinking I had bought an IPOD!! lol
My son has the latest iphone 4. Held in left hand signal goes. Bought a rubber protective cover. No longer has signal loss no matter which way phone is held.

That the audience would throw their NON-problematic, NON-faulty iPhone4s for, um, no reasons Apple can fathom. There is no problem, no problem at all. Steve can take it anyway.
@Mark: When did Apple admit to reception problems?
No, they're trying to finesse it that reception was already lousy -- implying not due to any problems in the phone -- but the display was indicating better than real. I think "the rest of us" *are* clear on the facts.
Sorry, when exactly did Apple say that the software fix would address reception issues? The point of the update is to make the display of signal strength more accurate. Please get your facts right.
The point missed is that Apple should simply admit that they rushed out a dodgy/faulty design, recall the iThingy, and fix the problem. Not try to claim that "you're holding it wrong", "the software update will fix hardware design flaws", or "the light coming through your ears is affecting the sensors". The iPhone 4 has more issues than the fault antennae design, so tape or nail polish won't fix the sensor problem or the screen yellowing issues. Man up and admit your faulty design, Apple.

Jobs will reveal that he has ordered 2 iPhone 4's.
One for him, and one for his liver donor.
So Jobs can Facetime with the guy in his grave.

I hope when he tells the audience that its they are mistaken and it's a non-problem, they throw all their faulty iPhones at him.
This just in from correspondent dan goode: "iOS 4.1 won't probably be out till September. IT'S STILL IN BETA!!"
More as develops.
iOS 4.1 won't probably be out till September. IT'S STILL IN BETA!! This release is 4.0.1.
Why can't tech sites just report news? Why do most have to throw in their 2 cents worth of opinion?
It is a shame there is no "lemon law" for mobile phones similar to the automobile lemon law. That way you get a fixed product or your money back.
But I'm afraid that you're serious.

It's called a Bumper. The phone looks 10 times better with a bumper anyway, so why would this ever be a problem?
