"If they don't like copyright laws, move to another planet."

uh, this is Earth. we aren't a capitalist planet. we've been invaded by scumbags is all.

i don't agree with stealing someone else's work either, but the system isn't actually set up fairly, so that talent and ideas are rewarded. a lot of the ideas are stolen in the first place off people who don't get credited and recieve no payments whatsoever.
unfairness sows discontent in the collective mind, the final-ish outcome is that others will exist who exploit the exploitative system.

LINKS VERSUS CONTENT?

I don't know any of the seven sites listed in the seizure (and they are gone so rather hard to inspect), but most were supposed to offer "streaming" rather than file share or downloads. But a couple are listed in the Wikipedia as being "legal" not pirate. All they had were links to other movies sites --- no content at all! Anyone know if this is correct?

Robin Hood

Nice to see reasoned balanced dialogue coming from meeja.

This is a PR war...
And I'll give you a clue as to who will win... a film staring Russell Crowe stealing from the rich and giving to the poor. Who did everybody want to win? It wasn't the sheriff of Nottingham now was it...? Learn your lesson from history when you are finished plundering it for free screenplays.

Stealing is wrong... but stealing from the rich to give to the poor... not such a clear cut argument

"Piracy is a crime" .. say the narrow mindedly stupid

oh here we go dumb ass ignorant morally inept sheriff idiot hailing from retarded fuckland with his stupid beliefs. He who failed to critically think about the problem because he is too shallow minded! instead falsely believes that if more things become illegal and more criminals are inevitably created from that insidious crap things will be better.

Well the bad news is that won't work and people will soon realize it. I hope you are ready for that day because it won't be pretty for all those who supported the scumbag system that is going to fail soon enough once the lies and bullshit stop being as effective on the hypnotized public.

The temporary good news is that in the short term all the parasite scumbags like you, will have plundered more money at the expense of all stupid people, and those within the scummy injustice and faggot enforcement will have a job for a little longer while they keep up the deception and lies and criminal laws that benefit and protect the interests and agenda's corporations and other affiliated parasites behind government.

"If they don't like copyright laws, move to another planet."

yeah I can say the same thing... Why don't you bunch of manipulative hypocritical cretins move to another planet instead, where you can be a bunch of destructive lying parasites!

Piracy is not a crime

Hi,

"Piracy" is actually copyright infringement. It is not a crime (crime, as in criminal - an offense against the state), it is a civil matter.

Thanks,
Dom

Stealing is wrong

Stealing is in fact wrong, and if it were possible to own an idea, an image, or a sound then this so called piracy would be stealing.

The fact of the matter is all IP laws simply subsidize these so called artists by causing an artificial shortage of their work. This does have the result of increasing the quantity of this so called art. In my opinion it also reduces the quality though.

It sure would be nice if the government spent billions of dollars making sure no one could duplicate my labor. I could make millions with a government supported monopoly like that. It really is no different just because you stamp a big art sticker on it.

Supporting these laws is saying that other people should be locked in tiny rooms or killed so that you can enjoy your favorite copyrighted material. I ask you, isn't that criminal?

Piracy is a crime

Piracy is a crime. Like any other crime pirates should be punished because they can't live within the rules of society like 95% of society. If they can't behave then they belong in prison like every other criminal. If they don't like copyright laws, move to another planet.

All authorities crawled out of satant arsehole.

The evil sick ignorant and arrogant scum who comment here and other places who like censorship should be put in prison for eternity really.

They are stupid beyond belief, and yet it is their belief to support the corruption that causes most these small shallow problems of pirating and other meaningless issues that could be avoided and aren't the real problems at all.

Fucking stupid world sick of cretinous scumbags. Yes let's support the police state infrastructure and the injustice scumbag system who all make money off off all victims and the stupid ignorance of society in supporting such wars and crusades. Lets bail out Banks and allow big corporations and over sized lying governments and the rest of the parasite an easy ticket to fleecing the consumer and the content creative creators.

A wiser solution to benefit all that are worthy would be to just get rid of the greedy parasites within this scummy system and those that foolishly support it instead.

Lock em up, throw away the key, and send em down to HELL where they can worship money, status and vanity forever or at least in their stupid heads!

Pirates are good

Pirates create jobs for construction workers to build new prisons and sales for the material suppliers. It's all good. Let them pirate. Prosecute, convict and send them to prison. We get scum off the streets and create jobs. What a concept. Works for me.

Pigs fly

Wow, I cant believe it, I actually agree with the MAFIAA on this ONE.

Justifiable enforcement and morally correct standing by the industry this time. (they are flogging dodgy copies of movies still screening and making a profit).

Honestly the solution to copyright infringement is simple

1. Make it available(everywhere) and easy to get/use.
2. Price it reasonably.

Seriously, sell un-DRM'd digital copies for $2-5 that you can download or stream whenever the hell you want and then sell the medium for the people who want something physical for $10-15, again un-DRM'd. Allow registration of medium to activate your digital copy. If you want to hire and rip a movie, thats a valid distrubition method too with a portion of hire cost paid by the store to industry for the digital copy (whether you intend to rip it or not).

There's just not going to be the same sharing going on, as there is no longer any point, everybody has access, the service now adds value to "owning the media" with a digital back up on industry servers if anything ever happens to yours and you don't have to store it if you don't want

Disc scratched, no problem, re-download and burn, computer crash, no problem, re-download or stream.

So many opportunities available to truly change the way we do things and grow their market in this scary new world if they would just embrace it

Oh well, live in hope.

Of course

Lets throw all the pirates in jail, and once all the prisons are filled, we'll let all the murderers, rapists and drug dealers go since we won't have any room for them. Then once the entertainment industry finds they are not making as much money because lets face it, some of the pirates buy the actual product if it is worth it and the rest weren't going to spend money regardless. Problem solved right?

Stealing is wrong

The movie industry charges too much, but stealing there work is still not right... This was a justifed operation, and should be a warning to those that seek to profit by theft.

It's all good

The more pirates that go to prison, the better.

Of Course:

Paris Hilton is creative and innovative and the feds, state and local governments should be spending as much of our tax dollars as possible so Paris and her agents can make as much money as they can.
