I've read that many porn sites are quite tired of hearing "you force us to see your filth".
The xxx domain will give them automatic immunity from such accusations in front of a judge, so I think many porn site owners will be happy to migrate to xxx and completely leave behind the com domain and all the grief that comes with it.
As an additional bonus, rabid, religious fanatics (who foam at the mouth when realizing that other, normal people watch porn) will have a much harder time "accidentally" stumbling upon the object of their ire.
Now they are going to spend a few more decades working out what they consider porn.
Also I guess most countries won't adopt that prefix before their country code, however they won't ban porn sites either.
My 2c is that most .com/.net porn sites
will move below some country code, like .tv or something. That assuming that they will ever be forced to move to .xxx, which they won't.
It just makes sense. It will be much easier for a parent to block their kids PCs from access to the XXX domain than trying to filter porn from everywhere too. If I want to look at some babes I know where it is.
I just hope the Gestapo wannabe FEDS do not abuse this move, they will.
I am not opposed to porn, but there are placing it does not belong. (in our government offices for one)
There is a need for a simple filter and this is the only real solution.
Does this mean all porn sites must use the .xxx domain or will it be an option?

good one.. either approve it legally or stop it with full power...
Many porn outfits actually asked for the xxx domain, so there might be more uptake to move to it than you think.
