A contract-free Iphone 4 for £500 (607 Euros)?!? ...i bought my contract-free HTC Desire for 380 Euros (£312)... and i don't need sticky tape to have network signal on my Desire... :-p
If anything is the HTC poster child i would think its the HTC Evo 4g offered by sprint. Currently own this phone and aside from the battery life taking a dump i feel its a much better comparison to the iphone 4.
wow... Lawrence is actually positive, generally, on the iPhone.
Shocking theinquirer.net actually has a relatively positive mention of the iPhone. Even though there are some complaints about, potentially easily cracked screen, scratches, death grip, and yellow spots, the positives seems overwhelmingly outweigh these minor issues. The biggest issue, death grip, is not even an issue, since I will have a case/bump for the iPhone. How many consumers will want to leave their iPhones unprotected? If these are the only issues, then I will be definitely buying the white iPhone 4 when it finally come out. It's finally time to retire my 3G, and give it to my kids.
This is no surprise as the mobile business model has changed. Apple has moved from selling high priced fare to hipsters to moving as much quantity as possible to increase potential mobile advertising revenue. That why you can now get a 3GS at Walmart for $97. Installed base is to mobile like subscription is (was?) to newspapers - the more you have the more you can charge.
The dell streak has similar specs to the iphone4, not to mention a larger battery and a 5 inch screen. With the ability to have android 2.2, I would say its a much better choice. It comes with a 16gb flash disk, and this can be upgraded to 32gb.
Its around the same price, better contract on 02 than the iphone. Why you buy an iphone your paying for the apple logo.
And if you think a 5-inch screen is too big... its only 2cm more in height than the iphone, no difference at all.

6th Apple/iphone based article today.
Boring...

The desire's OLED technology is far superior to IPS.
Too much BS in this article to even bother dissecting it. I am very surprised at the INQ for even publishing this biassed fanboyish garbage.

Don't forget that the desire has a pixel density of 252ppi which is much better than the standard 72dpi on TN panels.
I think there needs to be a standard density so that content, especially web content like pictures can be optimised for mobile devices.
