This is obviously too much for Mark. Hence, he invents these "simpler privacy settings" to reapply the defaults "Everyone" & "opt-in" again to lower the percentage as much as possible. Additionally, the new settings will very likely satisfy public & media, as FaceBook shows some signs of honoring the user will. The whole privacy fuss will settle down more or less. In the end, the final percentage may be lower than now, just due to users' lack of interest, or worse, medias' lack of interest. Yes, I'm pessimistic, but I have to be, just to keep myself up to FaceBook's bad habits, and myself safer.
