They win at last

The internet has always frightened the crap out of governments and corporations as it was the last bastion of free speech in an increasingly hideous globalised world but now, well they've managed to stifle it and censor it so they win.

Welcome to the entertainment industry's lapdogs and servants, the governments of the world and their judiciary.
Long may they continue to take back handers and receive free holidays.

Lies! All lies!!!

There will still be three-strikes (graduated response). Signatories will be forced into implementing a "graduated-response" policy (commonly referred to as "three-strikes"). ACTA realises that ISPs need a safe harbour in order to operate effectively (to stay in business). This safe harbour will only be granted to those that:

"...adopt and implement a policy to address unauthorised storage and transmission of materials protected by copyright..."

The footnote then gives an example of such a policy:

"...an example of such a policy is providing for the termination in appropriate circumstances of subscriptions and/or accounts on a service provider's system or network of repeat infringers..."

So don't wee on my leg and tell me it's raining!!!

I too will voluntarily disconnect myself (and my family) from the Internet.

Seriousely

I am really thinking about canceling my net account when all this comes to be.

Who wants filtered net, and banning fees and all? I guess a lot of people don't, and when we all disconnect the media mafia can sit on it.

My children will also have a ban on the net, except for school and e-mail, everything else, bye-bye. There are better things to do than waste your life on facebook and tweeter, the most anti-social services ever actually.

How about listing the bad stuff too instead of the not-as-bad-as-I-expected stuff?
And yes there will be stuff like that in there, and yes it will be put in a way to hide it somewhat, but if you can't spot it find a blogger that does, internet is there to help you.. until they manage to stop it that is.
Also as I understand it there would be a few version of the treaty, one version signed by the EU one different one signed by the US and yet another one with changes signed by various other countries.
Bit like how the US has their own version of the human rights agreement, where you can murder and maim and torture in the US version using the slimmest of excuses to 'justify' it.
