@wasko

It's because the editors at the INQ are overcompensating due to being closet-Apple fans. I think they end up giving Apple and their products more air time than most publications, and I wish they'd stop it.

Fermi, and Nvidia's fortune.

AMD's 2nd, 3rd, 4th qtrs WILL be profitable. Ever hear of the 299 6 core jobbies these guys have. With NO answer from the competition in the same price/ performance band?
AMD ROCKS!!

Tried to get a quick and direct mail in to the kind folks at Inq. Didn't have the time to do this Thursday and Friday when I saw this.
Interesting how the Street sees the Fermi investment of the Green Goblin as being as we all know "Late to the party" as it were.
ENjoy reading.

Dare!

I dare AMD to call their graphics switching tech: "AMD Megatron technology".

atS@m:...

Sam, I would describe the paper notebooks I used 15 years ago to take notes from university lectures upon as pad, even though there was only occasionally some blood on them ... also some sweat and very frequently tears and more than anything else, little drawings down the side, mainly of TransFormers characters.

Pfft. "Pads"

Call them what they are -- TabletPCS.

Unless they've been drenched in blood, then you can call them pads.

Careful reading press releases

The 'net income' included a one time $325mil benefit from 'deconsolidation' from global foundries. While technically net income... this is a one time event and is not part of the normal business of AMD.

So while it is nice to quote net income of 257mil, that number should be taken with a huge grain of 'sand'.

Meh, AMD is a looser as always

Heck, since AMD does not have money like Intel to fund its own fab, AMD has been forced to let the Arabs owned its manufacturing arm. This is why those idiot fools can fill its own bottom line. I expect when Intel Sandy Bridge has been rolled out, AMD is in its own final coffin and after filed the chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Geez

Geez, and it only took 20 years for them to finally make a profit. Let's see if they can keep it up for 2 quarters.

Well that's going to make ..

Maddoctor well, er, mad!

(For some reason the above named poster is not a fan of AMD)

Is it *really* necessary

to place "Apple" and "Ipad" in every headline?

The news above have little to nothing to do with the ipad.

Im getting tired of inq hit seek :\
