re: opensolaris, 99% of the code in there was contributed by Sun. If Larry says "NO", then that will pretty much kill it off. Java stands a better chance of surviving outside of Larry's grasp, as openjdk 6 is pretty solid already, and there are many other interested parties, including IBM and RedHat who have a vested interest in seeing Java survive on its own.
Because Larry will follow Steve Jobs steps when its Apple Cocoa OS is no longer to be supported by Apple.
