From what I've seen that the gov has as competency I would not worry about them catching up any time soon. If it isn't the competency it's the rules and regulations that get in the way.

Other points of contention with regards to the gov spying is ego and budget...

Your probably wondering what ego has to do with it... Many people in any walk of life that play the legal game (meaning that you choose to not do illegal stuff to make a living but choose to be legit) care more about how big their slice of the pie is and care less about their job which breeds unbelievable levels of apathy because the best and the brightest are forced to stay at grunt level because they are the only ones who know how to do it and the cheating/lying/smoke&mirrors "Expert" becomes management who eventually become the ones who make the big decisions that affect how things are done, what is bought and how much budget is to be spent but since they know very little their decisions are usually wrong.

Never mind the fact that most of these "Experts" in the gov use automated tools meaning that they don't know how to really do things since they only want a big "GO" button to do it all for them allowing them to hire cheaper (cheaper = incompetent) workers to do the job.

So no worries the cyber criminal underground will make a killing for years to come and the average joe will be rapped and pillaged in the process.

realize: big brother isn't going to surrender and step down if we use harsh language and form facebook groups. 4chan is right. There is only one way.

Don't underestimate the power of technology to be used for oppression.

The next version of The Web, whatever it's called, simply won't allow access as now. Sites will only exist by *prior* gov't permission. OSs will be required to use only encryption that gov'ts have the keys to. Any traffic that the gov't can't read will be automatically a "crime", as will all concealment.

But won't matter whether you actually *do* anything that isn't permitted: the system is changing to where *baseless* accusation strips you of all rights, no appeal, no opportunity to clear yourself: DOESN'T MATTER. The only constant is TOTAL POWER.

Everyone should read "1984", or again. The structure is being put in place. But some just can't believe their own eyes.
