Verily my children do I seeth ye enter into a realm neither evil nor benign however, this pod hasth good and bad beans and at long last the term "freedom of expression" may become unbiased without double standards and prejudice, where these aggressors allow Homosexuals freedom of expression while denying the Paedophiles their due rights and while allowing atheists to advertise their blasphemous, despicable, appealing, revolting and utter puke inducing posters denying the existence of God, they disallow individuals like Abu Hamzah, Ivan Shimud, Ehud Olmert and "Steven" from the Ku Klutz Klan.
They also disallow the Protestants their rights. True freedom of expression is seldom seen and is nothing but a mirage/illusion. And while the Good are oppressed, we haveth advocates of the devils using the system for their provision and perversion although they've no right. to.
I must protest and stress that regardless of which party wins the general election, whether it be left wing, right wing, or double wing corruption and secrecy, molestation and atrocity will always be present and the decision making and attitude of England is subject to that of what America declares, England will forever be somewhat of a jester and squire to America the likeness of this is like that of Blair and Bush, Blair being the sheep and Bush being the Shepard and this terrible turn of events shall continue until the Royal Family take responsibility and guide this Catholic Christian Country back to becoming not a kingdom, but a Christiandom.
They should also take back the Mother/Holy Land, Jerusalem, and Smite a mighty Smiting to the two misguided groups that are laying siege to that which they do not belong (Muslims and Jews) by name, shall be given a De-Destinification where they will be given the Holy Spirit and love/light of Christ and should they deny it, they shall meet their fate. Jerusalem is by divine decree Christian property.
A Crusade for the dominance of faith, the Old Testament is insignificant, without believing that the Christ died for our sins we are at a total loss.
Now hold your hands together near your chest and look up and repeat after me "OH HOLY LORD, GOD IN HEAVEN THY SEETH ALL AND HEARTH ALL, THY KNOW THE PAEDOPHILES BY NAME AND THY KNOW THE HOMOSEXUALS BY NAME AND THY KNOW THE FORNICATORS AND FORNICATRESSES BY NAME AND THY KNOW THE ADULTERER AND ADULTERESSES BY NAME AND THY KNOW THE RAPISTS BY NAME AND THY KNOW THE MURDERERS AND DRUG ABUSERS BY NAME I ASK UNTO THEE BY THY OMNIPRESENCE AND OMNIPOTENCE AND BY THY LOVE FOR THE WEAK AND THY WRATH FOR THE MEEK, THY PURSUIT FOR THE AGGRESSORS AND THY WINGS OF PROTECTION FOR THE WEAK THAT THY SMITETH THEM AND THEIRS AND RESTORE PEACE AND TRANQUILLITY, LAW AND ORDER ONTO THE EARTH AND MAKE IT SERENE AND THERAPEUTIC THAT WE MAY THRIVE AND STRIVE IN THE NAME OF THE LORD, GOD! olliP - yes, the Swedish Piratpartiet was the first, founded Jan 1st 2006. Then, after the Pirate Bay raid may 31st that year, about 15-20 parties started in other countries., including the UK (which fizzled, until I made an effort to get it started again last summer) and the US (which has problems due to the horrendous procedures for registering parties (has to be done state-by-state, and each state has it's own requirements)
Jason Goatcher. the name works surprisingly well in fact. In the EU elections last summer, 7.3% voted for the Swedish PiratPartiet, and 2% voted for the German Piratpartiet (which was around a million votes) meaning that right now, There is one MEP (Christian Engstrom) and one Lisbon-MEP-in-waiting (Amelia Andersdotter), both from Sweden. There are also some established German politicians that have gone over to the Piratpartiet. As Clarkson pointed out a few years ago, the Germans have classes in how to laugh, so it must be something to do with policies.
Kyle - the US is a problem indeed. It's actually easier to start a political party in most of the former Soviet states, than in the US, even if you only speak english. Says it all really.
Robert Carnegie - In a word, No. The Pirate Bay is Swedish, this party is British. The Swedish party has no links with the Bay, beyond (I think) some of the staff being members, the visible presence of the party outside the trial, and that every major incident involving the Pirate Bay drives thousands of members to the Swedish Party (and drives people in other countries to form their own)
There are now Pirate Parties in over 40 countries, covering just about every continent (although Africa's a bit hit&miss right now) - It's not quite up there with Global Greens, but it's not doing too bad for 4 years from first idea.

I have a choice between Labour and their back handers, bungs, Lobbying and no policies..
or a choice of the Conseratives and their back handers, bungs, Lobbying and no policies..
Or the Lib Dems and and and well just and.....
or the BNP shouting kill everybody that's not us.
At leat the Pirate Party have published and at leaset they have thought about their policies unlike all the other Parties who are just saying wait and see.
"... it will be free from corruption and scandals, along with lobbyists, party whips, and other interested parties."
That will probably hold true for a while. How long a while is anybody's guess...
"It also promises to be neither left or right wing, ... and wants to give us ... less taxes."
Isn't less taxes decidedly right wing?
"... raise the bar on patent approval and ensure that firms prove how innovative their idea is before it is allowed to be patented."
I don't support this idea! Proving innovation is so difficult that it will work against their intentions. It should be difficult to get very wide patents approved though.
Instead of making it difficult to get a patent, it should be much easier to get a granted patent revoked by anybody proving lack of innovation. To prevent the obvious patent trolling that would be the consequence of such a law there must also be some sort of control mechanisms regarding active patents to make sure they get to use, but not mis-use.
Jason G: "While "Pirate Party" is a fun name it won't help get them votes."
The name is a double edged sword. While it may very well scare off some otherwise sensible voters, it is in line with existing similar parties in other nations (where I think Piratpartiet in Sweden was the first).
How about calling it the Free Technology party? Or, if I became the God of political party names, it would be called the Eclectic Electric Electorate. I'd name it that just to screw with the newspeople.

Are these the same people as Pirate Bay?
I thought with them you could buy a CD and copy it to everybody's iPod.
Tough uon people who sell CDs.
Well, we need someone to take the place of the Lib Dems now some people think they may have real influence in the coming election.

Must be some good drugs those folks are using?
I hope this works and becomes a shining beacon of light to the US...Oh what am I saying...private interests have a death grip on our government.
a little common sense.
