No one, and I mean NO ONE, not Apple or any Mac site, blog, magazine, etc., EVER said the Mac or iPhone are "impervious to hackers, malware, viruses, etc etc etc.". The only people to make this stupid claims are Windows Fanboys that have predicted gloom and doom for years as Mac users lived virus free.
Could there one day be a virus, sure! Do I think it's due to the "obscurity" BS, no! Fact is Mac users are a complacent bunch and have more disposable income and the 24 million or so Macs out there are, or should be, a MUCH more profitable sandbox to play in. Why not go for the computers that 99% of the time lack any protection!
Add to that the fame and glory the writer would get by being the first to create a true virus for the Mac OS and it's smug users.
What kills me though is all the attention you Windows Fanboys give to Mac security when Mac users don't even think about it you all obsess! Seriously! If there is even a small article, even one as silly as this, you jump all over it!
Of course this article is reminds me of the Republican party that complained when Obama didn't televise the insurance debate as promised so the people could see, but then said Obama was just doing a publicity stunt when he said he would televise the insurance summit meeting.
Here in this article we have people that complain Apple wasn't taking security seriously and as the Mac and iPhone increased their share they better, but who upon hearing Apple has hired a security person with OS and browser experience then use it as a club to somehow AGAIN disparage Apple. Amazing!
Why is the world would Apple need a Security Expert? Aren't all Apple machines impervious to hackers, malware, viruses, etc etc etc. LOL. Maybe its to secure Steve Job's like they do with the pope in a bubble car from all his worshipers? After all Apple is a cult.
Actually with Apples diminishing market share this guy probably saw it as a cake walk with a big paycheck.
Security by Obscurity, I like that one. :D
Nothing is impervious to anything.
Or we humans wouldnt exist, and apple didnt have to hire anyone.
amirite? :D
