You're right about the Newton, but the Macbook Air is a great product. It's successful, and people love it.
Also, it helped further Apple's image of sleek/cool. When it came out, it was by far the slimmest, lightest notebook, and it had reasonable processing power too.
No. The Toshiba R500 is and was faster, smaller, lighter and had a dvd drive...
