You get it from the Nokia website. You choose what maps you want to put onto the phone. You can put as many, or as few countries on as you like. You just decide how much of the storage you want to use with the map data.
Nothing to stop you adding, removing or updating maps later of course.
To be honest it's one of my favourite iPhone bashing features, especially if I happen to be abroad with an iOwner!
Did I just read that capacitive screens are more accurate? Are my eyes failing me? As everybody knows, one of the distinctive advantages resistive screens have is that they are far more accurate than capacitive ones. Why is it necessary to keep reminding those basic facts to the so called specialized press?
Why does everyone continue to think capacitive touch screens are God's gift to the world.
Before the iPhone appeared with such a thing did we have a problem? Did the legion of Nintendo DS owners spend hours punching their screens trying to make to notice them?
No they did not.
Capacitive can multi touch, that is it.
Resistive can't, but can be used by people with gloves on, tapped with a finger nail, or any old stylus.
Personally I find the iPhone style of touch screen where you have to place your big fat digit right over the thing you are trying to select a complete pain in the arse.
Trying to drag select some text on an iPhone is enough to make me not want capacitive.
Expensive mobile
I am one of 3 entertainment reporters who have been attending VIP events around the world, on behalf of Nokia!
I want to know what you think...
Have a look at the footage and let me know:

You preload them yourself with a PC app.
The app is called "Nokia map loader"

Roaming data charges... Yum yum...
Nokia spent 8bil on navteq, did the map for your country come pre-loaded on the phone?
Nokia's website is vague on this, is the data for the map pre-loaded or does it have to be downloaded?
I want it preloaded, downloading sucks because if you are on holiday then it might cost £500 for the contry you are holidaying in on data charges.
The Inq, were the maps already pre-loaded on the phone?
Is this a portabe entertainment communicatons navigation system all-in-one without being majorly flawed?
Thanks.
