There is a much easier, more reliable way to get capacity
I have a patent on LTO technology that is much more reliable than squeezing more tracks on the tape with improved servos. What IBM has is 2 dimensional thinking.
Tape systems proved to be unreliable, slow and expensive.
If they are able to store 25TB in a tape, I will wait for such tecnology to be used in hard disks, thank you.
