Shoe on the Other Foot

I am always so amused when I hear residents of Blighty complain that American products cost more in Britain than in the U.S. Evidently, history is either no longer taught in the U.K., or it has been substantially scrubbed! Not more than 150 years ago, you see, there was this small island nation that had conquered a quarter of the world and "administered" it as its own personal Walmart. The English would rape, pillage and plunder the world's commodities and then sell back to the poor benighted subjects of the empire wildly expensive articles of manufacture derived from said virtually stolen commodities. Of course, British citizens didn't actually pay the inflated prices charged to others around the world. But then that wouldn't have been cricket. Anyhow, it seems to me that the shoe is now on the other foot. How does it feel?

Suddenly netbook looks attractive

I was strongly against netbook--who wants to spend ~$400 on that worthless piece of s***? But in comparison to this iPill, netbooks look wonderful! They can do everything this iPill can (may be not extortion). They will probably have similar battery life. Pay $25/month, and get Clearwire connectivity, and you are all set.

price?

Well, the joojoo is supposed to cost $500. Anything apple sells will have to be more expensive. The iSlate will have a smaller screen but more memory (at least 16GB flash vs. a mere 4GB in the joojoo). I guess $1000 is a likely price without signing a 3g contract to go along with the slate.

Black Mountain Hop

Who will be the chosen one to go up Black Mountain to receive the first Holy iTablet from The Creator? Perhaps the lucky soul can mountain bike back down the trails to the waiting masses of worshippers, and show them how all wisdom can be obtained from the Tablet using the magical BING, through which speaks loudly the voice of the serpent Ballmer.

But wait a sec...isn't Ballmer a Force of Darkness and conveyor of plagues and illness according to the Holy I'm A Mac show? I am so confused...I may be losing my religion...

$1000??!!!

That cannot be right. Who would pay that much for a super sized iPod touch? It would have to have a much better ARM based SoC (like tegra 2 or better) or have a full PC architecture to warrant that price.

lol @ Itablet

@ the previous poster - only a shill would call an Iphone or an Itablet an iPhone or iTablet.

Apple hardware has many imperfections, starting with the name. Does no one pay attention in grammar classes anymore? Then again, I'm posting this on the Inq...

Itablet?

Sorry, you've debunked your entire story by calling it the Itablet. Even if that was the name, it would be iTablet.
