It is more than obvious that this is NOT A NETBOOK. It's a nettop (an all-in-one desktop).
At first I thought that this was just a mistake, but it seems that your editor is totally clewless - otherwise he wouldn't go on saying: "All this is a slap in the face to Intel and Microsoft's cunning plan to try and keep netbooks under 10 inches in screen size."
Very dissapoint. This is The Inquirer after all. Show some respect...
@ssj4Gogeta The ion2 can't be install as the ION 1 because the pinetrail chip is not like the atom 280 or 270. The new processors (pinetrail) already have a video chipset in their chip, and a pc can“t have 2 integrated gpu's (pinetrail + ion 2).
"as the Pine Trail chipset is much cheaper than Nvidia's Ion 2 and could harm its sales."
You need a pine trail chipset if you want to use ION2. ION2 will connect via PCIe to the pine trail chipset, so it's just a normal graphics card, not a chipset. They can't make a chipset for the new Atoms because they don't have a license to.
Last time I check the news ION 2 will have 2x pipeline compare to ION. ION has 16 pipeline (9300 / 9400) which make ION 2 as least as fast as old Geforce 8600 GT with 32 pipeline. As far as I know GT 210 is just 16 SP. Does Nvidia make special ION 2 with 32 SP GT 310?
I thought that was a mistake. But then you even comment on that one. 20 inch is definitely a nettop, NOT NETBOOK.

20" netbook? Surely it's a nettop (desktop replacement)?
