Not making a distinction between hacker and cracker makes them look like crap for the smart people out there but interesting for the uneducated masses.

When I was working in CitiGroup Japan I tried to warn my manager that our network was hacked and even showed evidence with a screenshot of a fake printer job buffer of files that didn't exist on a printer whose name didn't exist. The reason the hackers stored the virus on printer jobs is that virus scanners won't scan files in active use. The minute I tried to access the printer it "disappeared" leaving me only with a screenshot. The next week I got "laid off" for my troubles. Citi knew full well they were hacked the whole time but wouldn't admit it because under the law they would've had to have closed the trading operations being unable to guarantee the safety and security of customers accounts. It all started when every printer in Citi in S.E. Asia started printing simultaneously just the date on a page, going for about 1 hour. I figured that was some sort of vulnerability test by hackers. Too bad I was right. Fck 'em.
Yah, But if they get cought in China, they won't have a nice day...The problem is when the giant will wake up! Sometimes a little money can open his eyes...
"crimes including identity theft, fraud, spam and child porn"
Sounds like they are trying to make these thieves into a bigger target. Seriously WTF is child porn doing on that list? The others are theft and confidence related crimes, its like someone is just trying to make us care about the plight of some banks.
Citibank gets ripped to the tune of $10 million? So what? Citibank has stolen far more than that from their customers and the American people. I hope the Russians get ANOTHER $10 million out of the b@stards.

From what I understand, these "hackers" have infiltrated customers computers and using their login credentials and other info to steal money.
It seems there are very few banks who are interested in tackling this problem.

"I'm sure that private accounts of Citi executives hold more than 10 millions - clean them out"
I'm sure the execs know to put their money off shore.
