Apparently they couldn't run Crysis at 87975785 fps so, it had to be shelved. Afterall, thats what the fans want!

Sad news

Larrabee shelved??!! What sad news! I was hoping it would come out already so we can use it to decode what the f*** Drashek is saying.

Oh well.

22nm ?

I suspect that we won't see a serious productized version of Larrabee until Intel starts shipping 22nm around the end of 2011. 22nm technology offers about 4x the density of today's 45nm technology. Besides 22nm's higher performance & lower power, that means a lot more can be crammed into the same space occupied today by a quad core. The 32nm Westmere includes on-die integrated graphics. Expect this trend to accelerate with 22nm

Intel should just buy NVidia.

Or a large interest in NVidia, force some 10-20 year "tech sharing contracts" and then sell it's interest in NVidia and walk away with the tech secrets.

Drashek-speak comment

I am now almost certain that Drashek is using a translation tool.

Oh, and that girl or tiger thing? I think English speakers would find Lady or the Tiger to be more familiar to them.

Drashek, rewarder of the determined techy strikes yet again.

Adventure Into RIFT....

Mike Did What No Man Had Done Before, espionaged RIFT Valley of Bangalore, Coming Out With 2.4 billion Transistors. Thats Miracle & Magic.

Larrabee, As theULT Has repeated & tried to Open Eyes of Scoffers, Is BUNK. ibm Product from Late 1950s', gone Intel, for Blame Game Reasons', Its Monetary TS Fraud & Computing Good At that. C Shanti Wrote in TG Daily, NO Larrabee Will EVER Be Made & quite right. SaraLee NOT Even Real. what Saw At IDF Was MainFrame in Terraflopper & idf Repeated Crude on Demo Launch, Nothing more.

Intel Wants Its' billion Dollar Spoof Back. Intel Dosn't Make GPU As Larrabe Team Screws Public out of Gov't research Funds Far Beyond Any Market & HAs Never Engineered larra Power Supply Nor ANY Other Part, Its PURE rip Off Behing TS Curtain. AND OLD AS SHIT.

Nvidia Tried idea with FUZION in 1990s', Now AMD Wants piece of FUZION. Maybe AMDati Team Will Produce Product, thats 2012 Door.
Girl of Tiger?

no more WIntel DX12 fiasco

I am relieved now, that they have scrapped this. which means we wont see a repeat of vista ready/capable/whatever issue faced by intel igp which dominates 50% of the motherboards today.

MS can go ahead and design DirectX12 to work with proper graphics cards from ATI/Nvidia instead of worrying how it can be modified ti fit Larrabee architecture.

HPC market....

So Intel are just going to release this for the HPC market at the moment.....but isn't that sort of competing with their 48 core Single-chip Cloud Computing SCC processor they also announced recently?

Early warning

"Pat Gelsinger said that general-purpose GPU computing initiatives like NVIDIA's CUDA would be nothing more than "interesting footnotes in the history of computing annals." "

What a pity!

It could have been a great configuration:
Vista running on Itanium + Larrabee

haha

Intel's GPU competeing against AMD's GPU will be like the CPU competition, Intel will be slightly faster and a LOT more expensive.
