Windows 7 Rocks

All guys who are saying that Win 7 has nothing to do with PC sales should know that PC sales only jumped after the release of Windows 7.

People are buying new PC to try Windows 7, they are the ones who have been holding back for past 6-7 months to buy PC only when and If Microsoft releases Windows 7.

I myself has used Windows 7 and even though I am not a big fan of Microsoft but still Windows 7 Rocks.

Sorry guys I can't write biased comments like Apple Guys. I am man of Honour.

Increase in computer sales

I run my own freelance tech support business. Business has been booming since Oct. 22nd/the release of Windows 7. People were putting off buying a new PC until Windows 7 came out. Most of the clients who have got me to help them build and configure a new PC, are home users. And I am still getting more and more orders to build and set up new systems with Windows 7 on them.
So, yes, Windows 7 is great for hardware and, yes, home users are buying up the new PCs with Windows 7 on them.

Win 7 is just the icing...

Home users don't buy new computers just because there's a new OS around.
I think the sales increase is the combined effect of generally improved finances, ageing hardware in use and new CPUs and GPUs recently released.

People couldn't afford a new computer over the past year, and so more than normally now need a new one.
The new hardware makes the upgrade worthwhile, and Win 7 is then the icing on the cake.

Not Windows 7

I will buy a new PC but NOT because of Windows 7. It is because I had been putting of getting a new one for a few years. I will probably install XP again and re-partition my old to to pure Linux.

windows eh

most people get their windows with a PC purchase.

it is a very small % of users (non corporate) who will buy Windows in its own.

so how can Windows 7 spark demand for more hardware? it will perhaps lead to increased minimum specs on new PCs, thanks to Aero and things like the windows experience index (consumers love comparing numbers).

i much doubt that win7 will lead to people rushing to buy new hardware, since most people never upgrade their PCs; only buy new when their old gets full of malware and bloatware, and takes 5 mins to boot.
