It's all about control of information flows - not privacy

German governments, and other European governments hate Google. But not because of privacy concerns. German government mandates ISPs and phone companies to maintain a full social profile of every person living in germany, using a phone or internet. So it's not about privacy.
What they hate is that they lose control over the flow of informtion. Google, Facebook, YouTube, mySpace, Twitter and others provides many people the means to make their views noticed.
Governments cannot prevent this, but it makes them angry.

too many lawyers in the German parliament

Lawyers are a pain in the neck and much lower. There are way too many lawyers (and teachers and government clerks) in the German parliament and politics.

They make laws that benefits their own class.

I have decided not to give my vote to anyone who has a legal or government background, regardsless of the party.

I'd rather vote for a butcher than a lawyer, I expect to find more common sense with a butcher then a lawyer.

Trust me...I'm a Politician!!

I've got tons more respect for Germany, which has been a good example of how a nation should conduct itself, since WW2.
As an example, it make this country
look pretty sick.
If you think that the data that Google collects doesn't help to identify you, then all I can say is, your completely out oif touch with the reality on the ground.
When you add up ALL the data collected from ALL sources such as Ip adresses,pc log files(collected by M$),post codes, emails, telecoms, banks, employers, gov't dep'ts such as birth, marriages, divorces, deaths, health, national insurance, social (in)security, council tax, rents,Inland Revenues, criminal databases, et'c,et'c....you think or know that NONE of this identifies you as an individual??
I suggest that, you've got your head in the sand or your trousers.

what's the problem?

with noscript there is an option to selectively enable (if temporarily) google-analytics (never really had a reason to do so yet). i only enable scripts crucial to specific page (often just per visit). this not only safeguards my privacy but also protects against some exploits, blocks ads (no floating crap, intellitext and such) for me (probably saves bandwidth as well - for those with caps).
can't imagine myself browsing without noscript.

Collectively

Gathering data of this scale does not represent or identify individuals, when are people going to understand this!
Germany are just worried that on a grand scale, this data is going to show just how sexually deviant the country is, as a whole!

Germany?

Chronosia doesn't like Google Analytics either, so the Germans aren't on their own. Sensible folks, the Germans...

s/urchin.js/null.js/g and if you think that's all I block, you carry right the hell on trying to get around my filters. My network, my browser, my privacy, my rules.

"Is there anything Germans like?"
Ed, I'd like to say that the above is offensive and puerile, but you'll probably think it's funny.
Pathetic is too soft a word for you. Please get a life. Go to Germany, spend time learning the language, get to know and mix with the people. You'll soon find out how unreal and out of touch with reality you are.

Germans Claim to be Exempt from Self Snitching....

Putting CLAMP On Worlds MOST successful Pirateers, Barter Via Merkleite RED & Whaddya GOT? Does US Embassy In MINSTER Use Anal ytics? Heres Hon Obama esq thought

“I can tell you … that it is in our strategic interest, in our national security interest, to make sure that al-Qaida and its extremist allies cannot operate effectively in those areas,” Obama said. “We are going to dismantle and degrade their capabilities and ultimately dismantle and destroy their networks. And Afghanistan’s stability is important to that process.”

The president said that since the United States went into Afghanistan, the war there lacked the resources or strategy to deal effectively with the Taliban and their al-Qaida allies. “It is my intention to finish the job,” he said. “And I feel very confident that when the American people hear a clear rationale for what we're doing there and how we intend to achieve our goals, they will be supportive.”

Obama stressed that Afghan security is important globally. “The whole world, I think, has a core security interest in making sure that the kind of extremism and violence that you’ve seen emanating from this region is tackled, confronted in a serious way,” the president said.

Singh agreed with that assessment. Its' from Here & Perfect example of New Wave of Double think:
