personally I prefer the x1 over the iphone that my wife and brother have, and here is why

1.) qwerty keyboard. I can take quick notes with my fast little thumbs

2.) full MS office. Similar to above

3.) Lack of Games. Its a serious honest to goodness business phone. I dont really need games, nor do i need to find how level my TV is with my phone

4.) removable battery.

5.) Power button that works every time.

I was also one of the unfortunates who fell for the hype and bought the X1. Having promised to limit myself to one phone pr year, I have kept the X1. However, the X1 is so useless in every way, that I decided to let myself buy a new phone once the X2 was released. So now I have ordered an iPhone..
It will be a long time before I consider an Ericsson phone again. The X1 is slow, unresponsive, and thoroughly Windows. The panels are neither here nor there, only giving a superficial skin that is of no help whatsoever.
I consider myself an above-average user, and this being my third windows-phone, I am amazed at being unable to find the radio or the panels via windows (the panels-button died a few months ago).
The mediaplayer is absolutely unable to play more than one song before requiring more user input. If it plays the chosen song at all.
It launches Opera Mini or Explorer randomly.
The map/GPS function uses Google, which is fine, until one needs to use it in, say, Japan, where the data-traffic-costs causes one to spend over 100 quid to find an address in Osaka.
The special characters I need to write in my native language, Norwegian, are inserted randomly in the message or mail, unless I wait until the unit has caught up with my typing. Which usually takes quite a long time, and defeats the purpose of a QWERTY keyboard.
The update function never works, neither for Windows or Ericsson-related software. It is not possible to download additional panels either.
These are just a small selection of faults on the X1 that has exasperated me these last few months. Ever since I bought the X1 in early may, I have regretted the decision. Now, I just look forward to my iPhone arriving in the mail.

Does anyone really know when the X2 will be release. Becuase there is so many storie of when the real date is and everyone is waiting months for it.

And when do you think will it be released here in South Africa??

The X1 had the same preview excuses rolled out, and I was one of the unfortunates who bought that dog. The X2 could print its own fivers, but I wouldn't buy SonyEricsson again. Will be swapping to the Nokia N900 at the first opportunity, Jobs can forget about my cash as well...

Sony's phone UIs are always really slow.

They're normally pretty nice to use, but their devs haven't learnt the word "optimisation".

On 9 September, there were some news reports that said the Xperia X2 will be the last Windows Mobile phone made by Sony Ericsson. From now on they'll be making Android phones.
