Watching the smartphone marketshare figures can be better than watching the football. See who's winning, and who's losing, as it will shape the next era of computing.
Android's jump of about 1% (of the total smartphone market) in one quarter seems small, but it must be about a 20 or 30% jump in Android sales, compared to Android sales the previous quarter. That's pretty impressive. Can't wait to see the figures after the Moto Droid is released.
Windows Mobile, on the other hand, is continuing its slide into irrelevancy. It dropped about a percent, now down to 8.8%. Microsoft retains its monopoly on PC desktops, but has lost the phone market. Everyone's flocking to Android. I think it's inevitable that Windows Mobile will be discontinued.
...not made by a phone company.
That’s something, I guess.
