I am a little sad by the comments made on this page, 'it's not a religion' says who? You? I am a pagan myself and i'll have you known that it was well established in England long before Christianity took hold. Also, the Harry Potter joke? Lame. Dont you realise what fiction is? It's like saying to to Christians, 'Fine, if you want to play at 'Bruce Almighty''. It's one thing to have an opinion but at least get your facts straight first. Also, of course no curses and strange transformations were used, we go by a three fold law and certianly would not stoop to the bully's level. I feel the legal technicalities were justified.
*grin* The "pre-Christian religion" theory has been debunked for 20+ years now by modern scholars. Googling it doesn't necessarily mean you have found authentic information at first glance. It's also evolved far past Gardner's initial setup Try http://wicca.timerift.net
Umm.... I'm without religion but i'd like to have a go at your stance wicca is just pretend. Wicca is worship of a divine form, maybe not an organsied religion but from my standpoint, all religions are 'just pretend' as none of them have proof of their divine entity other than the old favourite 'my book says its so, therefore it must be'.
In fact, just like people that quote google searches as new found fact.
There have been standards for determining a religion from a sect from a passing mode or an outright imbecility since at least the days of Napoleon. If people want to play Harry Potter on weekends then so be it but this is just pretend, it's not a religion.

Hey just because a few people worship Moander, doesn't make them a sect. But one day he will return and you all will be turned into shambling mounds!
"...this is just pretend, it's not a religion."
...what's the difference?

Lucky for you lot that the FSM is not a jealous god. Or you could all expect a noodly appendage *bad* touch.
PS: The movie was MPatHG, and I claim my five pounds.

But, how do we know that someone wasn't turned into a newt and 'Got better'
name of the movie on the back of a postcard..

Clearly today the curse is a plague of lawyers rather than being turned into a newt.
