Will this phone be upgradeable to Android 1.6 and/or Android 2.0 aka Eclair ? IMHO buying today a phone that won't get Android 2.0 is not a great idea.
The purpose of airplane mode is to turn off ALL transmitters in the phone. Ofc the wifi isn't going to work in airplane mode, it turns off both the cell transmitter, AND the wifi transmitter, that is the whole point of airplane mode, stop all transmissions that have potential to interfere with aircraft navigation systems.
If the wifi does work with the phone in airplane mode, the phone will not pass certification testing, and, will never make it to market. So, what you are reporting as a shortcoming, network not working correctly in airplane mode, is actually a 'by regulation' design requirement.
I like a laugh.

It's exciting to see so many new Android handsets coming on to the market.
The Dext looks pretty capable. And a bit cheaper than the Motorola Droid.
Has 7 home screens PER profile. Which adds up to a LOT. Get your facts straight
