Why would a company use the cloud ?

I really can't understand why any self respecting/serious company would be willing to trust its email and documents, many or which must contain sensitive information, to the Cloud.

I like google apps but...

I have at least once a month or so that gmail doesn't function well or at all. I don't think I'd recommend that for enterprise just yet. And unless I'm missing something google apps really doesn't compare to exchange + office.

I like google apps, but only for stuff that I can't be bothered to manage myself. Like email for small domains that I own.
