This is great news for the industry and just re-iterates how tech needy people are becoming...IT professionals need to make sure they adapt, meet business and consumer demands and always stay ahead of the game by refreshing skills and knowledge...try http://tinyurl.com/yhnna7j
How many of these jobs will be filled by 'local' resources (few), and how many will be 'outsourced' to India, China and Eastern Europe? (most). What the rest of us better focus on is innovation and invention!
... Windows 7 takes off and becomes mainstream. Oh wait, Windows is included free in every new MS based store-bought computer. How ignorant of me to forget that.
If the latest craze of Microsoft products anything to go by I am not surprised. Every time they release a new product they seem to do is change the GUI and relocate the icons and menus. With every new product Microsoft seems to change the location of all the menus just because they can.
I can only presume that half the jobs they are talking about are in relating to GUI design and the other half is security. To protect the GUI designers from nerd-raged virilities who just wont to know where the advanced tab of product XYZ go.
Everyday I thank the world for Microsoft. How many businesses can claim such a pro-active approach to job creation?
In these hard times Microsoft delivered Vista and provided the demand for thousands more tech support positions. Now Vista has been wrapped up in the 7 disguise we'll get the same people, with the same problems returning.
Thank you Microsoft - if Windows worked properly half of us would be out of a job.
