why?

Since August, memory prices more than doubled. Why? Because Quimonda went bankrupt. The danger about government subsidies is that they may be used by the makers to maintain price wars, until a major competitor knocks down. Memory chip makers have a few past stories of price fixing to rip customers, and that seems to be happening again. Everybody now is paying high prices for crap memory and there's nothing Mr. Crapo can do.

I too lol'd at Senator Crapo.

I wonder did his wife take his name, or did she go double-barrelled?

What fun could you have with her surname? If she is from the family that make Cockburn's Special reserve port then maybe she is called:
Crapo-Cockburn.

I wonder how sort of internet searches this page will end up on, lol.

US protectionism

The US government it seems has learned the protectionism policy that Korea, Japan and Taiwan have implemented to protect their own memory industries. One may ask where was the US government when its auto industry was going downhill and how is the auto industry doing now?

The continued reliance on bail-out by the DRAM industry worldwide has led to continued focus on cost-cutting instead of innovation within the industry. Let the threat of collapse drive the pace of innovation!

The Quickening

The Gathering Game: in the end, there can be only one Dramurai.

This smacks of anti-competitiveness. <beup Is GloFo the gander, as GloFo the goose?

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
