Ever hear of Inkwell?

It's OS X built-in handwriting recognition that has been available since the 2002 release of 10.2, built on their experience from the Newton.

It can also translate between French, English, and German handwriting.

Um, Windows already has good handwriting recognition...

Windows Vista and Windows 7 both have very powerful and very accurate handwriting recognition... that already work with tablets...
