good call

good call let me quote you

"@ dan
What... you've had 4 PCs since you were 2? So that make you about 8 or 9 years old I guess?

That's probably why you don't remember the long line of touch devices that came before the iPhone (from Psion organisers, and ipaqs to smartphones like the Sony P1 or W960)."

you forgot about pocket pc's and palms that were doing almost everything that iphones do now 5+ years before. granted it didnt have the app store (more like paying for a shortcut)

you also forgot that Mac fans are fantatical fools, and NO you can run virtual pc or windows on a mac and have all the software run. and then dont forget macs now are really pc's (all the same hardware)and that you pay twice as much for that hardware to get a mac os.

so mister rewrite needed you need to get YOUR fud spreading facts varified

Hoo-boy...

So...Nick's rant proves he's great at ranting. Jobs appeared, which must be a bit of a disappointment to the Farrellizer.

As I write this, there's still nothing on the Inq about what Apple did launch, only this blast.

Where's the Inq I used to love? All we get now is this kind o' shyte.

Pissadointing and disappointing all in one.

Oomm Pa Pa Oom Pa Pa

"If you were expecting an Apple jetpack or an Apple hovercraft, or even an Apple tablet, you didn't get that,"

However, Nick Farrell does a generous version of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club.

Someone get me the Walrus! That would be generous.

rewrite needed

for the writer -

as a business major and a person of above average intelligence (compared with, for instance, yourself) and someone that has been running pcs and fixing them and building them from scratch since the age of 2 years old,

apple has an unbelievable business model which seems to drive fools like you up the wall where they find the ability to make people buy things that they dont need but that look unbelievable and are awesome.

i myself switched to a mac this year and i have never been happier with a computer in my life. i have had about 4 pcs.

in terms of all of the other things you said about the products not being ready and apples bs and postponement, really?

apple's iphone was one of the first touch devices on the market and still surpasses every device out there in terms of the screen, storage space and capabilities

and my mac runs windows, and natively runs windows apps, and programs are made for mac, and they're actually made better on mac, take ms office for instance with many more capabilities.

so chill out and get your facts straight, legit dude.

Love for PCs, not

I was told that there were people who hate Mac computers and everything Apple. I thought it was a joke, but this Apple hater—author of this article—confirms it. Unbelievable.
Good luck with your PC. Enjoy it.

Given Nick's track record

of getting his predictions about Apple wrong i'm looking forward to finding out what it is that they actually DO announce.
BTW b, I think you'll find that Macs can run OSX apps, and Windows apps and Linux apps, all at the same time if need be.

I love how I can tell the author is Nick BEFORE I check the author. Seriously The Inquirer, it's time to let Nick go. He's just asking to flame.

Cheap AR

b,

Not AR with glasses and gloves, I only mean the apps that can overlay information onto a live camera shot - such apps already are available on camera-enabled iPhone 3GSs.

Augmented Reality

on an ipod, that'll be the day.

Meanwhile

What can Apple do about it?

I suppose it would be better for us all if Apple simply updated their store and issued a clutch of press releases. Doing anything more than that will result in web-traffic-baiting coverage from many websites (possibly even including L'Inq). However, they want as much press as possible in advance of Christmas.

In the bubble of the tech media, the hype is deafening. However, most readers of BBC, CNN and newspaper websites don't know about tonight's announcements. They won't be disappointed when they read the articles later on whatever Apple has to say. The hype does make it more likely that people on the edge of the tech media bubble will tell the rest of the world Apple's news.

Once Apple stops making moves that many people think affect the futures of many industries, the hype will die down.

Apple already has cut prices on iPod Touches in preparation for a 64GB version. You might want to catch that news at TechCrunch.

Cameras on Touches are not about stills, more about Augmented Reality apps.

Camera!!

Why on earth would I want a camera in my iPod? I'd thought putting an FM receiver, bluetooth, wireless and a huge range of other gadges in would be a priority? Camera = used for social events, iPod = used for non-social events.

Do you think the move was justified?
